2022-23 Staff Assembly Reflection

Just like that, we are at the start of a new academic year! As we head into the 2023-24 year, we thought it would be good to take a moment and reflect on all of the work and accomplishments made by our community in 2022-23.

At the start of last year, we acknowledged that the last few years have been incredibly challenging times for our community, and we see how resilient our dedicated UC Davis staff members have been in the face of constant change.

Our hope is that the staff community continues to find that Staff Assembly is here to support you and advocate on your behalf. When we started the year, we had some general goals to:

• Serve staff by sharing insights about the staff experience with university leadership;
• Keep staff up-to-date with vital information;
• And create space to celebrate our community.

Highlights

We’d like to think we accomplished all of that and more. The full annual report can be read here, and below are some highlights of the success we hope to build upon this upcoming year:

• Statement of support for campus committees and Staff Assembly participation as "essential university work"​ from UC Davis Leadership
• More than $37,000 awarded through the Citations of Excellence and Staff Scholarship programs​
• The largest TGFS program ever with over 7,000 meal tickets sold ​
• New employee orientation video and welcome kit​
• Many other successful events, including Aggie Explorations, the Winter Warmer, sporting events, and Breakfast with the Chancellor​

Staff Assembly’s Executive Committee would like to thank all Staff Assembly members, campus leadership, campus partners and supporters, for their commitment to enhancing the staff experience at UC Davis.
