Policy-Covered Staff Identity Poll Results

How would you define or describe policy-covered staff identity/ies?

Staff Assembly published a survey in the December 14, 2023 edition of Staff Voice asking staff the following question: How would you define or describe policy-covered staff identity/ies?

This poll was inspired by a Council of UC Staff Assemblies Workgroup Charge, focused on how CUCSA can best advocate for policy-covered (also referred to as non-represented) staff, including by defining the identity of this population.

Staff Assembly received 12 responses to the poll.

  • Most respondents needed clarification to be able to answer the question.

Additional responses included:

  • “Financial and Programmatic backbone of the University workforce.”
  • “I would describe policy-covered staff identities as those who go above and beyond in their work. They like what they do and are here for the long-haul.”
  • “I would describe policy-covered staff identities as a diverse group who are community-driven. You can see an example of this at TGFS every year, where all UCD staff members from different departments come together, and many help this community event by volunteering and tabling!”
