2023-2024 Salary and Compensation Report

This year, the Staff Assembly Executive Committee set a goal to collect and analyze salary and compensation data to better advocate for data-driven decisions and to try to answer key questions relevant to staff. What did we find?

  1. Over the past 10 years, Academic Senate compensation has increased 37.3% while PSS unrepresented staff compensation has increased 33.2%.
  2. Some represented groups have seen compensation increases of 43% (NX), 51% (CX), 72% (TX).
  3. Medical benefit premium increases may cause some staff to have effective salary decreases for 2024.
  4. A small number of staff have salaries outside the statistical norm for their payroll title.
  5. The specific department or division where an employee works may have an outsized impact on salary (for non-represented staff).
