Join the UC Davis Arboretum and Public Garden staff for an up-close and personal tour of the UC Davis Arboretum. Tour Starts in front of Walter A. Buehler Alumni Center! As part of the Healthy Outside Initiative, Staff Assembly is thrilled to partner with the Arboretum and Public Garden on a guided, lunchtime walk. Stacey Parker, Director of Public Horticulture and Engagement, and Andrew Fulks, Assistant Director, Arboretum and Public Garden, will lead UC Davis Assembly members on a guided walk around the Arboretum. Stacey will highlight various special plant collections and plant/tree specimens in the Arboretum along the tour, while Andrew will highlight many of the construction projects happening inside of the Arboretum. Don’t miss this chance to meet fellow staff and learn more about what makes the Arboretum such a special place on our campus!

October 15, 2020: The Regents of the University of California set a goal for all the UC’s to achieve net zero carbon emissions by 2025 and UC Davis has a plan to get there. At this meeting, find out more about the Big Shift, a large-scale construction project that literally lays the groundwork for ultimately reducing our campus’s reliance on fossil fuels from Katie Hetrick, Finance, Operations and Administration senior communications manager. It’s going to get messy, but it’s worth it!
November 19, 2020: Learn more about the Coffee House and its pledge to provide their guests with a unique and inviting dining experience, focused on fresh, delicious, made-from-scratch menu options prepared and served by students for UC Davis and the community at large. Attendees will have a chance to win a gift card to the CoHo!
January 21, 2021: The Big Bang! helps you to grow as a leader, communicator, innovator and entrepreneur. You'll find opportunities to connect with innovators, learn from our interactive and free educational workshops, build your team, grow your network—and compete for cash prizes. We will be awarding up to $100,000 in prize money. Students, staff and alumni affiliated with any California higher education institution are eligible to participate. You do not have to compete in the Big Bang! to attend our events and workshops.
February 18, 2021: The Center for Chicanx and Latinx Academic Student Success has staff members who provide academic advising, counseling, internship and career services and tutoring, and facilitate formal and informal interactions with faculty members. It is CCLASS desire that students experience a sense of community and empowerment that will help them be successful on campus.
March 18, 2021: Much like a small city, the UC Davis campus operates with a large scale utility infrastructure to keep the campus functioning. Our Utilities division of Facilities Management manages this important infrastructure including one of our most essential utilities, heating and cooling. The Central Heating & Cooling Plant generates and distributes high-pressure steam, hot water, and chilled water through a complex system to heat and cool over 8 million square feet of building space.
April 15, 2021: The R. M. Bohart Museum of Entomology was founded in 1946, is located on the University of California, Davis campus. The museum is dedicated to teaching, research and service. Home to the seventh largest insect collection in North America, the museum's collection holdings total more than seven million specimens of terrestrial and fresh water arthropods. The museum is also home of the California Insect Survey, a storehouse of the insect biodiversity of California's deserts, mountains, coast, and the Great Central Valley.
June 17, 2021: Led by Dr. Renetta Tull, the first UC Davis Vice Chancellor for Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion, the Office of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (DEI) was formed from four previously-existing units: Office Campus Community Relations (OCCR); Office of Academic Diversity; the Office of Diversity and Inclusion, Davis Campus (UCD-ODI); and UC Davis Health’s Office for Equity, Diversity and Inclusion (UCDH-OEDI). The goal is to sustain the momentum of UC Davis' work of diversity, equity, and inclusion.
