UC Davis Staff Assembly is dedicated to promoting the welfare, interests, and diversity of the staff, the campus and the University of California. To accomplish these goals, Staff Assembly works at maintaining and enhancing communication among the University community. Staff Assembly is an advisory group to UC Davis administration and also responds to administrative requests. We also propose or sponsor programs and activities committed to the interests of staff.
About Staff Assembly
Staff Assembly was envisioned by Chancellor Emil Mrak in October 1968 to create a complete campus community, involving all segments of the campus. This vision was realized when Chancellor James Meyer formally recognized UC Davis Staff Assembly as a staff organization in September 1969. UC Davis Staff Assembly, the first in the UC system, cemented the concept of shared governance in the University's mission of teaching, research and service where administration, faculty, staff, and students work together.
UC Davis Staff Assembly is one of the five recognized campus constituent organizations. UC Davis Staff Assembly, Academic Senate, Academic Federation, Associated Students of UC Davis and Graduate Student Association comprise the entire campus community and are the basis of the shared governance process of this campus.
Breakfast with the Chancellor
Staff Assembly is pleased to introduce the Breakfast with the Chancellor program, which provides a unique opportunity to meet with Chancellor Katehi and discuss topics of importance to staff, in an informal and relaxed setting. The first breakfast will be held at the Chancellor's residence on May 1.
