Tips for a Great TGFS

Tips for a Great TGFS - Answers to your questions

  • This event is intended for UCDavis staff and student employees. Friends and family are NOT intended to participate.
  • A representative needs to be determined by each department to order tickets for the entire organization.
  • We will be providing plenty of large tented seating areas for shade for our picnic guests.
  • We will also provide tables and chairs in the shaded areas around the field which can be used by any picnic guests.
  • Guests are NOT allowed to bring pop-up tents due to fire regulations.
  • Dogs are NOT allowed at this event except for service dogs. 
  • Guests can bring lawn chairs or picnic blankets.
  • If you would like the vegan choice for your meal, make sure to indicate that to your organization's ticket representative.
  • Sign-up early and check deadlines if you are interested in any of the sports, TGFS Idol, or the logo contest.
  • Wear sunscreen to the Picnic! Dress comfortably and think about bringing a hat and sunglasses.
  • You may want to wear bug repellent.
  • If you are on campus, try planning to walk or ride your bike to the picnic. Check with co-workers to see if you can walk over as a group.
  • Bike valet will be available, free of charge.
  • Don’t miss the vendor showcase featuring local business partners and campus organizations offering services and products to benefit staff.
  • If you have any special needs (i.e. transportation for disabled, diet), please contact our office ahead of time by emailing us at tgfs@ucdavis.edu.
  • Volunteers need to report to the volunteer check in area 15 minutes prior to their scheduled shift. 
  • If you are a staff member who is also a student anywhere, or has a student in college at UCDavis, consider applying for our staff and staff dependent scholarships. 
  • Don't forget about our UC Davis Day with the Oakland A's vs. SF Giants, June 19th!
  • Of course we have our Annual UC Davis Family Picnic at Six Flags on August 6th!
